Paper Conservator National Maritime Museum Salary range: UKP17,000 to UKP19,000 depending on experience The National Maritime Museum is seeking a recently qualified Paper Conservator to join its Conservation and Preservation Section. The Museum's 2-D collections include paintings, ship plans, charts, maps, historic photographs, books, manuscripts, prints, drawings and globes. The primary responsibility for the post holder will be to support the museum's exhibition, loan, access and collection care programmes. The post holder will join a team of nine experienced conservators at the National Maritime Museum. Background and Experience: A recognised professional qualification in Paper Conservation * A high level of manual dexterity * An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work * The ability to work independently and as part of a mixed team of conservators * Previous studio experience would be an advantage * Good organisational skills--to plan and prioritise work and meet deadlines * Good computer skills--word processing, spreadsheet and database systems Terms and Conditions: Salary range: UKP17,000 to UKP19,000 depending on experience Core hours of work will be 41 per week, 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management.
