Removing chewing gum from carpets

If bits of chewing gum are frozen with liquid nitrogen, they can
easily be crushed to powder. The powdery residue could then be
brushed away or simply taken up with a vacuum cleaner. This would
not affect the carpets in any way. As no solvents need to be used,
this procedure would also be environmentally safe.
