Subject: Consolidating leather

You might wish to consider using Cellugel. This is an effective consolidant for deteriorating powdery leather and was developed by professional book conservators. Cellugel is essentially a mixture of hydroxypropylcellulose and isopropanol. When applied to powdery leather, Cellugel is absorbed throughout the entire thickness of the leather and dries within minutes. After it is dry, the dust no longer comes off the leather. Cellugel does not darken, discolour nor leave a film on the surface of the leather.
