The National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh is one of Europe's
leading research libraries and the largest library in Scotland, with
world class collections, services and expertise.

As a member of the Conservation unit, you will assist the team in
the application of remedial treatment and protection measures to the
most important parts of the Library's collection.  Both traditional
and modern conservation techniques are used.

The post-holder will work towards PACR (Professional Accreditation
of Conservators-Restorers) accreditation.  Professional development,
including supervisory training, will be provided with support from a
mentor and will be directed through a personal development plan.
Following achievement of PACR and a minimum of four years' service,
the post-holder will progress to Conservator Band 5 (UKUKP18,183 -
UKUKP24,311pa).

You must be enthusiastic and have excellent communication and
problem-solving skills.  You must be able to work well on your own
and as part of a team.  You will possess a degree in a relevant
discipline, or knowledge from relevant experience.
