Research Assistant (12 month contract) based in Central London
Salary: c. UKP22,000-24,000 including London Allowance

Working as researcher at the Centre for Sustainable Heritage at UCL
on a project investigating the impact of aggregates extraction and
transportation on the historic environment at sites in rural England
you will undertake a variety of tasks, including outdoor fieldwork,
collection and analysis of dust, noise, traffic and vibration data
and the use of geographical information systems. You will also need
to liaise with various stakeholders including the public, heritage
managers and quarry operators.

You will have a good science, engineering or conservation degree and
possibly a higher degree. A high level of computer literacy is
essential and experience of geographical information systems would
be advantageous. Experience of working in a research environment and
knowledge or experience of building conservation, environmental
conservation, planning or the quarry industry would be desirable. A
full driving licence is necessary in order to undertake the
fieldwork element of the project. You will be expected to make a
contribution to the project including publication of academic papers
from the very beginning of your appointment.
