Fellowships Historic New England <URL:http://www.historicnewengland.org> Historic New England (formerly known as Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities) is seeking applications for one and possibly two, one year, post-graduate fellowships in objects and/or furniture conservation beginning in the fall of 2005. Projects for the year will focus on the treatment of objects from Castle Tucker, an 1807 house in Wiscasset, Maine. Treatments will also include material from Historic New England's 35 historic properties spread throughout New England. Fellows will also participate is a conservation survey of collections housed at Beauport, the summer home of influential designer Henry David Sleeper in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Participation in preventive conservation projects is expected as is occasional travel to Historic New England sites. Candidates must be graduates of a conservation training program or have equivalent experience and be legally entitled to work in the United States. The stipend for both fellowships will be $25,000 with an additional $2,000 for travel. The Historic New England's lab is located in Haverhill, MA approximately 45 minutes north of Boston.
