(Note: Deadline has been extended) Paper Conservator Fixed term contract (26 weeks duration, covering maternity leave) National Archives, Ireland 26 weeks from 25 April - 23 October 2005 A temporary post to cover maternity leave is available in the National Archives of Ireland, in Dublin. The work consists of conservation treatment of paper documents and keeping records of conservation work done. The principal tasks consist of work on 19th century manuscript documents and maps and on 18th century printed documents. A recognised degree in paper, or archives conservation, is essential, as is a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience of relevant paper conservation work to be verified either by references or contact with referees, and/or presentation of a portfolio of past work. The National Archives has a large fully equipped conservation workshop (2002) and excellent working conditions for staff. The conservator should have all visas required for working in Ireland.
