Short Courses Continuing Professional Development Programme The Textile Conservation Centre Winchester UK Testing Materials for Storage and Display 1 September 2005 Preventive conservation is increasingly important but it is often difficult for conservators to know which materials are suitable for use in conservation standard storage and display. This one day intensive course seeks to clarify the situation through an introductory lecture explaining the chemical practice behind off-gassing etc. followed by workshop activities. UKP150 Introduction to Digital Photography 5 September 2005 This course aims to cover the simple basic use of digital cameras. This will highlight the advantages and disadvantages of digital cameras compared to traditional film based ones. There will be an emphasis on their use within conservation, but not to the exclusion of the important basic photographic techniques. UKP100 Advanced Digital Photography 6 September 2005 This is aimed at those camera users who understand the basics of photography and want to explore the more complex techniques of digital imaging. The use of supplementary lighting, flat-bed scanners, image manipulation, digital colour printing, data projectors and data storage will all be covered. The use of infra-red and ultra-violet imaging within conservation will also be investigated. UKP100 All courses will run from 10am-4pm.
