25th Anniversary Celebration at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center Conservation Department The Harry Ransom Center Conservation Department invites all former volunteers, interns, and employees to attend a reunion event on September 29 and 30, 2005. Please join us to celebrate our first 25 years of service (1980-2005) to the field of Conservation and to The University of Texas at Austin. Thursday, September 29: Evening reception and exhibit opening, with Don Etherington, former Conservation department head, and Jim Stroud, Associate Director of Conservation and Building Management, in attendance. Speakers include Ethel Hellman, Karen Pavelka, Ellen Cunningham, and Roy Flukinger. In honor of the anniversary, 25 Favorites, an exhibit of 25 conservation treatments, housings, and activities, will be on display. The exhibit will feature digitized images from the treatment slide files. Friday, September 30: Open house. Former employees, interns, and volunteers are invited to tour the Conservation Department. Selected items from the exhibit will be on view. If you are not able to attend, please send us your memories of working at the Ransom Center.
