Transporting materials

Our Special Collections Library has moved off campus while the
building is being retrofitted. We have been asked to specify a type
of transportation, say an electric cart, and to recommend a
container to protect the books from all weathers, except snow. Could
anyone who has set up such a procedure share their results with us?
