Werner Rebsamen Library Binding Discussion Group Sunday, June 26, 2005 2-4pm Palmer House Hotel Salon V Master book binder and noted author, Werner Rebsanen, to speak at the Library Binding Discussion Group meeting, Sunday, June 26, 2005 during the ALA Annual Meeting in Chicago. Please join us for another rousing discussion of library binding and the issues surrounding libraries, users and binders. We are delighted to host featured guest speaker, Werner Rebsamen, at this meeting. Considered an authority in the field of book binding, Rebsamen was born and educated as a master book binder in Switzerland, and immigrated to the United States in 1960. After a successful industry career, he joined the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1974 where he taught classes and industry seminars on book manufacturing. In conjunction with the Library Binding Institute (LBI), Rebsamen established a book testing facility where bindings from all over the world are sent to be tested and analyzed. His lectures and consulting assignments continue to take him all over the world. Rebsamen currently serves as Technical Services Director for LBI and is professor emeritus, at RIT. Complimentary copies of the "Guide to the LBI Standard for Library Binding" will be distributed to those who attend.
