Subject: Forum on timberwork and pews
The following is posted on behalf of the Council for the Care of Churches, English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Joint Forum for Conservation 2005: Timberwork and Pews Westminster, London November 2, 2005 10:15 am - 4:30 pm On Wednesday, November 2, 2005 the 9th Joint Forum for Conservation Issues will be held at Mary Sumner House, Westminster, London, focusing on the subject of timberwork and pews. The forum will discuss timberwork and pews in churches: understanding role and function, care and conservation and, particularly for pews, identifying those of special importance--artistic, architectural or historic. Those attending will include experts in the field, conservators, Diocesan Advisory Council (DAC) secretaries and other DAC representatives, together with representatives of the Council for the Care of Churches, English Heritage, the Heritage Lottery Fund and other relevant organisations. The day will afford the opportunity to discuss both the general principles involved and specific questions. There will be ample time for debate and discussion.
