Subject: UV filtering materials
I have a query from an allied professional. They are considering using the UV filtering film V-Cool on the windows of a historic structure, where they have previously used plexiglas. Understanding that the "lifetime" of either material is, on average about 12 years, they are concerned that after application of the film to the original glazing, removal might cause damage. Has anyone a) used UV film on historic glazing and found damage b) used this particular UV film in such circumstance with adverse reaction? The possibility of using the film on plex rather than windows has been discussed as well, and has anyone had any problems with such an approach.
