Associate Painting Conservator Chicago Conservation Center The Chicago Conservation Center <URL:http://www.chicagoconservation.com> is expanding its Painting Conservation Department and is seeking an additional Associate Painting Conservator. The successful candidate will work under Chief Painting Conservator Helen Conklin (resume available at <URL:http://www.chicagoconservation.com>) and Senior Painting Conservator Elena King with a fellow Associate Painting Conservators within the Center's Painting Department. Responsibilities include examination and treatment of paintings from the 17th Century to contemporary works for clients including private, public, and institutional collections. The position requires a graduate degree in painting conservation from a recognized institution, with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field. Excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills required. The Chicago Conservation Center was established twenty-two years ago and currently has a staff of 22 Conservators, Framers, Art Handlers and Administrative support staff. Departments include Paintings, Works of Art on Paper, Frames and Gilded Objects, Textiles, Murals, Disaster Response, Custom Framing, Shipping and Installation. The Center occupies a full floor open plan loft space with 14,000 square feet and top floor views of Chicago with North, East and South exposures. The Center is a member of AIC and IIC.
