Subject: Storing Roman fresco fragments
The following is posted on behalf of Hannah Fluck, Archaeologist. The fragments of an estimated 90% of the ceiling plaster of a room approximately 3m x 2m and 5-6cm thick have been inexpertly stored--unsorted--in boxes. They are in good condition but there is no plan to assemble them for mounting at present. They are to be consigned to museum storage and I would like to hear from anyone who can advise on the storage of this kind of material.
