Frames Conservator Libraries and Guildhall Art Gallery Guildhall Art Gallery Salary: UKP18,540 - UKP22,780 plus UKP4,370 L/W Job Grade: JE5 +2 Organisation: Corporation of London The Corporation's Permanent Collection of Works of Art comprises approximately 4,000 oil paintings, sculptures and works on paper. London topographical subjects from the 17th century to the present are a major element while other strengths include paintings; and the studio collection of Sir Matthew Smith, comprising 175 oil paintings and more than 1,000 works on paper. We are looking for a Frames Conservator to assist in the conservation and restoration of frames, mainly of British works of art dating from the seventeenth century to the present. Applicants should have a degree in a relevant subject and/or a recognised conservation qualification or apprenticeship plus a minimum of three years' practical experience, preferably within a museum/gallery environment. Interviews are expected to take place on Friday 25 November 2005.
