I checked out Karcher's website and they do claim to have cleaned
the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty 2-3 years ago.  However, this
is inaccurate: they carried out the cleaning for the 1986
restoration.  I don't know anything about that cleaning or how the
monitoring was carried out.
