Paper Conservator National Museum of Fine Arts, Sweden Temporary employment for 10 months, full time, starting Feb-March 2006. The National Museum of Fine Arts <URL:http://www.nationalmuseum.se> is situated in Stockholm, Sweden. The Paper Conservation Studio has three co-workers and is a part of the Conservation Department with a total of 14 employees. We are looking for a conservator to work with a special collection of Prints and Drawings. The project includes both to undertake practical conservation and preventive work. Another task will be to take part in the museums extensive exhibition and loan programme, and will involve making condition reports and conservation treatments on works of art on paper. Applicants should have a recognized qualification in paper conservation and at least two years of work experience. Broad knowledge in conservation of 17th - 19th centuries prints and drawings is required. Previous experience in the conservation aspects of exhibitions is desirable. Non-Swedish applicants should be able to communicate in Swedish, Danish or Norwegian.
