Senior Paintings Conservator West Lake Conservators West Lake Conservators, a 30 year old mixed specialty, preservation firm, providing comprehensive conservation services for paintings, painted objects, paper, textiles, murals and frames, seeks a highly skilled paintings conservator, capable of working independently with a minimum of 10 years experience on traditional and contemporary paintings. Applicants must be willing to work on a broad range of art and artifacts, both independently and in a team approach. Computer and digital photography skills are a must. Mural treatments and surveys offer occasional opportunity to travel. Independent research and contributions to our field are encouraged. Assistance with education of the public, workshops and interns is required. WLC has long had a special interest in the structural treatment of paintings. In depth experience with a variety of lining techniques including cold lining is desired. With dedication, opportunity exists for partnership, as senior level staff plan for retirement. Candidates must have a graduate level degree in conservation, or equivalent knowledge and abilities. Salary is commensurate with experience.
