Principal Conservator York Archaeological Trust, UK Salary starts at 24,000 gbp depending on experience. York Archaeological Trust is one of the UK's premier field units, with an enviable reputation for excavation, research and publication. As a registered charity, education, training, interpretation and presentation are important parts of YAT's remit. The YAT Conservation Department is integral to the delivery of many of these objects as well as providing a contracting service to external clients. An opportunity exists for an experienced archaeological conservator to lead the well-established YAT Conservation Department and work to its strengths in developing into new markets. Applicants should have good organizational abilities and be able to ensure 'best practice' in all conservation-related issues. You should have your own specialist knowledge and skills and have experience in the conservation of waterlogged organic materials. You will be expected to have good ICT abilities, be an effective communicator and have a proven research and publication record. Applicants should have a relevant degree (or equivalent) and a recognized qualification in archaeological conservation, plus at least 3 years relevant work experience.
