Subject: Workshop on grant writing
The Midwest Art Conservation Center (formerly Upper Midwest Conservation Association) Presents Grant Writing for Advanced Conservation Projects This advanced level workshop is a new addition to MACC's annual line up. MACC staff will teach the first day of this two-day workshop, and consultant Barbara Davis will teach the second day. The instructors will present a comprehensive workshop on grant-writing for advanced conservation-related projects such as: HVAC System upgrades; major storage renovations or additions, Object-by-Object detailed surveys of collections; actual conservation treatments and other large scale or large budget preservation and conservation projects. The second day of the workshop taught by Barbara Davis will concentrate on writing grant proposals to private funding sources for matching funds. The goal of the workshop is for participants to leave the session with a realistic and practical understanding of advanced grant writing for large scale or large budget preservation and conservation project proposals. Preservation Services staff will then follow-up with participants who are developing full grant applications. This workshop will take place from 9:30-4:30 at the St. Paul Public Library in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 25-26, 2006. Registration fees for this two-day workshop will be $235 for MACC members and $295 for non-members. Staff and volunteers from institutions with a total operating budget below $50,000 per year qualify for a reduced fee in the amount of $130 for MACC members and $200 for non-members. Fees for students (those currently enrolled in Undergraduate or Graduate Study Programs, including interns and fellows) will be $80 for each two-day workshop. MACC accepts credit card payments.
