HLF Training Bursaries Programme 2006-2010 Conservation Internships 2006 Educational Stipend of UKP14,500 p.a. Icon--the Institute of Conservation--is offering 17 work-based internships of 6, 12 and 24 months' duration as part of its Heritage Lottery Funded conservation training bursaries scheme. Interns will start placements across the UK in September 2006. The scheme aims to broaden access to careers in conservation and to increase the UK's fund of conservation skills. Several placements are specifically for new entrants to conservation from arts, crafts or heritage backgrounds. Others are for those who have recently graduated from conservation courses. Venues include private and public sector conservation workshops from Aberdeen to Canterbury, Colchester to Cardiff in the following conservation disciplines: stained glass, stone, preventive, conservation science, textiles, ceramics, natural sciences, ethnographic material, metals, archives and books.
