Conservator (Archaeological Collections) and Conservator (Paintings and Sculpture) Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim Vitenskapsmuseet (Museum of Natural History and Archaeology) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway is seeking two conservators for its REVITA Project. These positions are temporary, full-time posts available immediately and for the period until 31 December 2007 with the possibility of extension. The REVITA Project is Vitenskapsmuseet's 10-year programme (2006-2015) for the documentation, preservation, and security of all the Museum's collections. The REVITA project's conservators will be based in the Section for Archaeology and Cultural History's Conservation Laboratory. The Conservation Laboratory has a staff of seven including three archaeological conservators, one paintings conservator, one scientist and a section head. The laboratory has recently moved into new facilities. The REVITA project is seeking to conservators who can work independently, demonstrate initiative and work well with others. Conservator (Archaeological Collections) The main remit of the post will be the conservation of archaeological materials already in the museum's collections, both in storage and on display. Initially this work will concentrate on metal objects. The position is open to graduates in archaeological/cultural history conservation from a recognised conservation training programme of 3-5 years' duration. Previous conservation work experience is desirable and applicants with relevant experience in a museum setting will be prioritised.
