Deputy Textile Conservation Advisor The National Trust UKP25,043 - UKP28,883 pa The National Trust is Europe's leading conservation charity and its textile collections are of outstanding importance. The Textile Conservation Studio is housed in refurbished vernacular buildings on the Blickling estate, 12 miles north of the vibrant city of Norwich. You will be an advocate for the promotion and implementation of textile conservation throughout the National Trust which will include delivery of specific training events and management of the Levy Textile Conservation Intern. As a practitioner you will work closely with the Textile Conservation Advisor/Studio Manager and the studio team to ensure the highest standards are maintained through all stages of service delivery. You will work across the board in all aspects of preventive and remedial conservation, influencing and informing both property and conservation staff. Your management skills will enable you to understand, and work creatively with, the constraints on resources that exist within the NT as a charity. You will have a relevant degree (or equivalent) and a recognised textile conservation qualification, plus five years' post training experience. You should be ICON-accredited or be actively working towards UK PACR scheme accreditation. You will have worked in a multi-disciplinary team and have excellent communication skills, as well as first class organisational ability with proficient IT skills. A driving licence is essential as you will be required to travel widely to fulfil this role.
