Deputy Head Collections Conservation and Care Horniman Museum Salary up to UKP29,832 per annum The Horniman Museum is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to assist with the management of the Collections Conservation and Care Section and to participate in a wide range of Museum projects. Currently the Museum is working towards two new temporary exhibitions on Musical instruments in India, and a display on Japanese textiles, as well as a major refurbishment of the Natural History Gallery. The Section is responsible for the conservation and care of the Museum's collections of Anthropology, Musical instruments and Natural History. These collections are used to illustrate the world we live in--our cultures, arts, crafts, music and natural environment. Applicants should have a good range of post-qualification practical experience that encompasses the care, documentation and treatment of a wide-range of organic and inorganic objects in a museum environment, plus the skills and experience to enable them to carry out the responsibilities of deputy to the Head of Collections Conservation and Care. Ideally candidates will be actively working towards UK PACR scheme accreditation and must be either an EU national or hold a current permit that will enable them to work in the UK.
