Hanwell Instruments Ltd produces two main types of monitoring equipment: systems that give 'real time' data, either through radio telemetric or hard wired sensors, and dataloggers (also referred to as Humbugs/Luxbugs) that collect data and store it in a memory until the loggers are taken to a PC and downloaded. Data loggers are available for T/RH (internally and externally), Lux, UV, shock and tilt monitoring, and can be fitted with remote probes for monitoring in awkward spaces. The T/RH datalogger can be supplied with a display on the front, showing current T and RH. Lockable brackets are available for secure mounting. For very damp/condensing environments a waterproof datalogger with remote probe is available. The equipment has high accuracy: 0.2 deg. C at values between -5 and +50 deg. C temperature, 2% over the entire 0-100% RH range (non-condensing). The RH/T dataloggers can be calibrated using saturated salt solutions and calibration settings are adjusted through the software. Memory download only takes 15 seconds. Dataloggers are downloaded using the serial (RS232) port on the PC, and can run for a maximum of 5 years (depending on type and use) on the internal battery. A USB version in which you can replace the battery yourself is in development and will be available soon.
