Care and Display of Books Workshop The Natural History Museum, London Cromwell Road South Kensington London February 15, 2007 10am-5pm Cost: UKP150 per person This workshop introduces the key elements of good practice for the care and display of books through a series of presentations, videos and practical sessions. This introductory workshop is suitable for Library staff and Archivists and all those with responsibility for book collections. Subjects included in the workshop: Threats to Library collections The Structure of books Book Curation Basic book repair Bindings: materials and spine structures Temporary Book Display The workshop is led by Museum Library Staff: Judith Magee, Collection Development Manager, has extensive experience of managing and curating large book collections and has a special interest in Botanical illustration and Antiquarian collections. Paul Cooper, Assistant Librarian, has worked in the General and Zoology Library for a number of years and has a particular interest in printed illustration techniques.
