Subject: Internship at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane
Internship The Hugh Lane Gallery Dublin The Hugh Lane Gallery, is pleased to offer a one-year paid Painting Conservation Internship beginning March 2007. The internship will focus primarily on a conservation audit of the gallery's 900 paintings, which date from the nineteenth century to the present day, generating information for the gallery's collections management database. The intern will also have the opportunity to participate in other conservation activities, likely to include treatments, preventive conservation and installation relating to the gallery's busy loans and exhibition schedules. The successful candidate will be encouraged to carry out a short research project on an aspect of the collection, the subject of which will be determined once the internship has begun. The intern will report to the Head of Conservation, but should be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to work independently. Applicants should be recent graduates from a recognised training programme with a reasonable level of computer literacy. The successful applicant will receive a stipend of Euro25,000 per year, subject to normal PRSI and PAYE deductions.
