In 2007, International Academic Projects are offering 3 short courses in the USA: Conservation and Restoration of Ceramics (new course) Zellwood, Florida, 16-20 April This new course course to be held at Sydonie Estate House near Orlando, will be taught by Penny Bendall who recently featured in much UK publicity during her restoration of two large Kangxi vases, accidentally broken by a visitor at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge. Conservation of Glass Zellwood, Florida 23-27 April Stephen Koob (author of the recent Archetype/Corning publication Conservation and Care of Glass Objects) again teaches his popular workshop at Sydonie. Cross-section Microscopy for Art and Architectural Materials (new course) Winterthur, Delaware, 11-15 June This course, taught by Susan Buck and Richard Wolbers, will include visible and ultraviolet light cross-section microscopy of paint and varnishes, the use of digital imaging techniques and microchemical techniques of analysis.
