ICOM-CC calls for abstracts for its 2008 Triennial Meeting in New
Delhi, India.

The Conservation Committee of the International Council of Museums
(ICOM-CC) is now calling for abstracts of papers and posters to
contribute to its Triennial Meeting, which will be held from 22-26
September 2008 in New Delhi, India. This call is the first step in a
process that will lead to the production of Preprints, available at
the Meeting, that will contain around 150 peer-reviewed full papers
and an estimated 20 to 30 extended poster abstracts.

All information and documents relevant to the production of papers
and posters for the Meeting in New Delhi are available at

Until now, 14 ICOM-CC Triennial Meetings have been organised, yet it
will be the first time that such an event will be held in the
culturally rich Asian continent. There is no doubt that this meeting
will play an important role in the networking and sharing of
information and ideas between Asian cultural heritage professionals
and the ICOM-CC membership. It will also be a unique opportunity for
India and other Asian countries to share their conservation and
cultural heritage expertise with the rest of the world.

ICOM-CC, with around 1500 members from every specialty of the museum
and conservation profession, is the largest international committee
of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICOM-CC aims to
promote the conservation, investigation and analysis of culturally
and historically significant works and to further the goals of the
conservation profession. ICOM-CC is made up of 23 specialist Working
Groups, which actively communicate with their members through
newsletters, interim meetings and at the Triennial Meeting. The
Triennial Meeting brings members of ICOM-CC and other relevant
professionals together to report and to review current research.
Over 1000 papers have been published in the Meeting's Pre-prints in
the past twenty years. Normally, an ICOM-CC meeting is attended by
between 600 and 1000 participants.
