"KISS - Keeping It Simple in Storage for textiles" Lace Museum 552 S. Murphy Ave. Sunnyvale CA 94086 March 24-25, 2007 9am-5pm A workshop entitled "KISS - Keeping It Simple in Storage for textiles" being offered this Spring in the San Jose, CA area. Topics will include mitigation of deterioration sources by proper storage, storage preparation (textiles, facility, furniture), storage environment, retrofitting, equipment, furniture, tools, materials and mounts. This workshop is directed to historical societies, museums and other historic and cultural sites with no conservator on staff. Students enrolled in collection management courses will find this workshop of use as well. Practical and affordable solutions will be emphasized. The cost is $140 (14 hrs instruction, snacks, lunch, coffee, tea and water included). Enrollment is limited to 20. The registration deadline is March 1.
