Summer 2007 Internship in Archaeological Conservation Panama City, Panama The Smithsonian's Museum Conservation Institute is offering a short-term internship in archaeological conservation during summer 2007. It will be four to five weeks in duration, between early July and mid August, based entirely in Panama City, Panama, as part of a collaborative conservation and technical study of pre-Columbian Panamanian gold and gilded artifacts. International travel expenses and on-site living costs will be covered. Applicants should currently be enrolled in or recently graduated from recognized conservation training programs. Preference will be given to an applicant who has training in objects conservation with special emphasis on archaeological materials (especially metals). Candidates must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
