I would like to inform you that the preprints for The International Conference on Heritage of Naqada and Qus region", Egypt, 22-28 January 2007 have been prepared and are available for sale. ISBN 977-6088-02-3 (volume I, English) ISBN 977-6088-03-1 (volume II, Arabic) The final number of authors is 37 with 30 papers. The authors came from 26 organizations from 9 countries, from 4 continents. The preprints of the conference consist of two volumes, made of 80 gm white print paper, 24 x 16 cm (about 6.5 x 9.5 inches). Volume I is for papers in English. It includes 19 full papers in 240 pages with 132 black and white illustrations and three coloured photos on the cover. The illustrations are in a large suitable size with clear details and many illustrations have numerous numbers of photos and figures. Volume (II) is for papers in Arabic and includes 11 full papers in 168 pages with 81 black and white illustrations and three coloured photos on the cover. The illustrations are in a large suitable size with clear details and many illustrations have numerous numbers of photos and figures. The topics of the papers and the lectures varied considerably. A large group of papers includes several subjects concerning the culture and heritage Naqada and Qus region, its history-- through out the historical periods--, architecture and objects with examples of the archaeological discoveries in the area with comparative and parallel studies with the other similar cultures in Egypt and around the world which show the mutual and reciprocal influence between the ancient cultures. The papers include also some other subjects concerning the development and dealing with geographical, industrial, educational, and legal issues, as well as a few studies of more general interest concerning analysis, restoration and conservation methods and techniques.
