Subject: Internship at Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen
Internship Conservation Department Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen <URL:http://www.smk.dk> Conservation student trainees serve an internship from two to six months in one of the following sections of the conservation department: paintings, drawings and prints, or contemporary art and objects. The internship program offers students (and young graduate conservators) an opportunity to develop and refine their skills through the examination and treatment of works of art under the guidance of professional conservators. Informal discussions contribute to the programme. In addition, the internship will include other museum-related activities. Candidates for internships should be students (or graduates) of a recognized training programme or have equivalent training. Candidates must have Danish or English language skills. Accepted applicants who are not Danish citizens must provide proof of their own health insurance during the internship period. Internships are given without regard to age, sex, nationality, or race. Statens Museum for Kunst does not offer any financial support for interns, and external funding is therefore required. Statens Museum for Kunst will offer letters of support for fundraising for the accepted candidate.
