Trainee post Conservation of Archaeological metal and organic objects ArchaeoSpecialists ArchaeoSpecialists, located in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, enables students to put their skills in archaeological conservation into practice. Students from Sweden and Canada have already found their way to ArchaeoSpecialists in the past. In 2007, 2 trainee posts are available for archaeological metal and organic objects. Students from conservation training programmes in the Netherlands and abroad are invited to apply for this trainee post. The trainee will have the opportunity to work with a broad range of finds from various contexts, archaeological periods, conservation conditions types of metals and organic materials. The trainee post is for a duration of 3 months (4 days a week). In ArchaeoSpecialists, all kinds of archaeological specialist research are represented. From physical geographers to conservators, from biomolecular researchers to physical anthropologists. Also material specialists of all archaeological periods, such as pottery, stone, building materials, glass, organics and metals. ArchaeoSpecialists works for companies, universities, local and national governments, museums and storage facilities involved with (the excavation of) archaeological objects. The Conservation Section, which is part of ArchaeoSpecialists, is responsible for the treatment of archaeological objects for stabilization and determination purposes as well as adequate storage (both temporary and long-term). for applications or more information: Drs.
