Subject: Call for proposals--Conservation services
The National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center is soliciting proposals for object conservator(s) to document and treat an assemblage of Civil War artifacts on-site at the Willow Springs facility located in Charles Town, West Virginia. The materials are both organic and inorganic in nature and include, but not limited to, leather belts, metal buckles, wooden furniture, weapons, ceramics and glass. All documentation and subsequent treatments shall conform to the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice. The Government anticipates award of up to five firm-fixed price on-site contracts. Award is anticipated on or before May 14, 2007 and will continue through October 1, 2007. The contract term is negotiable. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) website at <URL:http://ideasec.nbc.gov> on or around March 21, 2007.
