Professorship, Conservation of Wallpaintings Tainan National University of the Arts, Taiwan Graduate Institute of Conservation Start date: August 2007 The Graduate Institute of Conservation at the Tainan National University of the Arts seeks applications for a Professor to direct the Division of Conservation of Wallpaintings, to teach graduate art conservation courses, and undergraduate courses as needed, assist in teaching preventive conservation and to enhance and promote public outreach, diversity, and other collaborative initiatives within the department and profession. Minimum qualifications: * a Master's degree in conservation; * nine (9) years of verifiable conservation experience, * demonstrated knowledge of: the technology, materials and equipment used in conservation; experience in preventive conservation * ability to examine and determine the condition and conservation needs of works of art and the preventative and corrective treatment of art objects; the environmental and handling requirements of art objects * ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and to work collaboratively with allied professionals. * a demonstrated commitment to public outreach. * knowledge of the Chinese language (Mandarin) is beneficial but not a requirement. The Graduate Institute of Conservation at the Tainan National University of the Arts offers a 3-year graduate program leading to a Master of Art degree in Art Conservation.
