Announcement of Civil Services Examination for positions at the New York State Archives The New York State Archives encourages individuals interested in working for an energetic, dynamic organization to take the civil service examination for Archives and Records Management Specialist I and II positions. This examination is an evaluation of your training and experience that you complete at home; there is no need to take a formal test at an examination site in New York State. The list of candidates resulting from this examination will likely remain in force for the next five years, and we encourage individuals interested in employment, whether now or at some point in the future, to complete the examination and application process. We anticipate that a variety of positions will become vacant while this list is in effect, among them those specializing in: preservation; digitization; electronic records; reference services; grants administration; Web site and information resource development; and provision of advisory services to local governments and historical records repositories throughout New York State.
