Conservation and Collection Care Service Project Conservator The Bodleian Library Grade 6: UKP23,002 - UKP27,465 p.a. Fixed-term 2 year contract The Bodleian Library is seeking a paper or book conservator to join its Conservation and Collection Care Service. The Bodleian Library is undertaking a 2-year project to catalogue, digitise, conserve, and rehouse 65,000 mainly 19th century items from the John Johnson Collection of Printed Ephemera and this post will have specific responsibility for planning, managing and implementing collection care and conservation operations associated with this project. The post holder will also plan, supervise, and monitor the work of a temporary (2 year) Project Conservation Technician who will be employed for the duration of the project. Applicants should have a post graduate level professional paper or book conservation-related qualification, or a graduate level qualification including work-based post-entry training and development, or equivalent. A minimum of two years post qualification experience of implementing conservation treatments and collection care work in a library, archive, or museum. Experience of planning and supervising the work of others would be desirable.
