Conservation and Collection Care Service Project Conservation Technician The Bodleian Library Grade 4: UKP17,636 - UKP20,434 p.a. Fixed-term 2 year contract The Bodleian Library is seeking a conservation technician to join its Conservation and Collection Care Service. The Bodleian Library is undertaking a 2-year project to catalogue, digitise, conserve, and rehouse 65,000 mainly 19th century items from the John Johnson Collection of Printed Ephemera and this post will have specific responsibility for implementing collection care and conservation operations associated with this project. The work will involve preparing material for digitisation, carrying out minor treatments and repair, and remounting items after digitisation. A sensitivity to materials, an ability to deal effectively with large quantities of items and an aptitude for repetitive work carried out to a high standard are essential. Applicants should have a qualification in paper conservation, or experience of implementing conservation work in a library, archive, or museum setting.
