Subject: Administrivia
Many of you probably noticed that in January 2006, the mechanism by which the DistList is mailed changed. We are now using a mailing list management system called mailman. This is used only to *send* the message, it is *not* used for DistList administration and there have been no changes whatever in the procedures for posting: submit your postings by sending them as plain text to consdist [at] lindy__stanford__edu. Similarly there have been no changes to the procedures for making administrative requests such updating your ConsDir information, email address, asking questions about the list, etc.: send them to consdist-request [at] lindy__stanford__edu. While it is likely that there will be procedural changes at some time in the future, until then, please follow the same procedures that have been in place for many years. For details see <URL:http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/ byform/mailing-lists/cdl/instruct.shtml> **** Moderator's comments: The above URL has been wrapped for email. There should be no newline. I do have one comment that may be helpful, especially to Hotmail users: if you find that you are not receiving mailings, you may have to 'whitelist' (or add to your 'safe senders' list) the following addresses consdist [at] lindy__stanford__edu consdist-request [at] lindy__stanford__edu mailman-bounces [at] lists__stanford__edu consdistlist [at] lists__stanford__edu cdl [at] waycool__stanford__edu cdl-manager [at] conservationonline__stanford__edu consdistlist [at] mailman__stanford__edu consdistlist-owner [at] lists__stanford__edu consdist-request [at] lindy__stanford__edu consdist-request+consdist [at] lindy__stanford__edu *** Conservation DistList Instance 20:47 Distributed: Friday, April 6, 2007 Message Id: cdl-20-47-001 ***Received on Friday, 6 April, 2007
