Subject Leader, Foundation Degree in Book Conservation UKP19,993 - UKP23,143 pro-rata Camberwell College of Art, SE5 0.6 (or Full Time) The Foundation Degree in Book Conservation has been developed in close partnership with the British Library. It aims to prepare the next generation of conservators with the relevant knowledge, skills and professional awareness in order to secure the future of books from all cultures and periods of history as part of the world's heritage. The course will have strong links to employment, with students taking up placements at the British Library and other museums, collections and national centres of excellence. You will oversee the delivery, development and continuous improvement of FdA Book Conservation within the broader portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate conservation courses at Camberwell. You will be responsible for managing the course team, ensuring effective communication and maintaining and creating links with external partners and stakeholders. We are looking for a practicing book conservator or someone working in a relevant area such as a museum or private collections. An understanding and experience of higher education and a genuine commitment to the development of book conservation in higher education and outside establishments will be essential. You will also need proven ability in team leadership, course administration and assessment procedures. There may be a further opportunity for a suitably qualified applicant to be offered a full time role working across this 0.6 post and a 0.4 role in Bookbinding and Book Arts course at London College of Communication.
