Marshall Steel Post-Graduate Fellowships in Paper and Upholstery Colonial Williamsburg The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is seeking qualified candidates for two post-graduate internships, one in paper conservation and one in upholstery conservation. Paper-based collections include 18th century English and American drawings, paintings, prints, maps, wallpaper and documents; and folk art from the 18th century to the present. Upholstered collections comprise a broad range of important 18th and early 19th century English and American furniture. Interns will be involved in all aspects of preserving these collections, including research, examination, analysis, treatment, documentation and housing. The internships are for one year and may begin immediately. An additional year may also be available. Annual compensation is highly competitive and is commensurate with education level. A generous benefits package and travel stipend is included. Candidates should be graduates of a recognized conservation training program and have demonstrated skill and experience in the specific discipline.
