Textile Conservation Fellowship Textile Conservation Laboratory Cathedral of St. John the Divine A full time Fellowship in tapestry and textile conservation is offered by the Textile Conservation Lab at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, NYC. It is a grant funded position beginning July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. The Fellow will primarily treat a tapestry from the Cathedral's collection and will be expected to participate in other ongoing treatment activities in the Textile Lab. The applicant should be experienced with textiles, stitching, and should have an interest in tapestry, with a basic chemistry and art history background. He or she should be comfortable and work effectively in a group environment, have the ability to focus on fine work for long stretches of time but should also be able to occasionally carry out activities that are physical in nature, i.e. moving heavy tapestries and wet cleaning. Applicants should send a letter with a statement of interest, a CV, transcripts of graduate and undergraduate courses and samples of examination reports and treatment records with documentation.
