Preservation Officer UCLA The UCLA Library has initiated recruitment for the position of Preservation Officer and is actively seeking nominations and applications. The UCLA Library seeks an engaged, energetic, and forward-looking librarian to provide leadership in building and managing its preservation program. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a comprehensive preservation program for a top-ranked ARL Library with a world-class collection supporting teaching and research in a wide variety of disciplines. The incumbent will work closely with the Library's Digital Library Program, which has responsibility for preservation of digital content, on issues of digital reformatting for preservation. A Conservation Center, with a full time conservator and conservation assistant was established in 2004 with a start-up grant and endowment from the Mellon Foundation. The Conservation Center will be part of the Preservation Department and the conservator will report directly to the Head of the Preservation Department. The first consideration date for this position is May 31, 2007.
