Subject: Statistics on transport damage
The National Museum in Oslo <URL:http://www.nasjonalmuseet.no> is in the process of redesigning exhibition and storage space. One option is to have an external storage facility. However, we are worried this might cause more damage to artworks than an internal storage space, as it will involve considerably more packing and transportation. Does anyone have any statistics on transport damage caused by external storage facilities? The statistics will only be used to decide whether external storage is an option and will be treated confidentially.
