Ceramics and glass conservator (50%) Musee Ariana, Geneva, Switzerland The Musees d'art et d'histoire in Geneva are looking to appoint a ceramics and glass conservator (permanent post, part time, 50%) for their Musee Ariana. Candidates should hold a recognized conservation degree (Haute Ecole or equivalent) and be established in the profession with several years experience in the conservation of historic ceramics and glass. Language requirements are fluent French and good English and German. The successful candidate will be required to take up residency within the canton of Geneva or the surrounding area as defined by the authorities of the city of Geneva. The Musee Ariana hosts the prestigious collections of glass and ceramics of the city of Geneva. It is the only museum in Switzerland and one of the most important in Europe entirely dedicated to historic glass and ceramics. With its more than 20'000 objects, collections represent seven centuries of ceramics and glass production. The museum also features modern and contemporary objects and organizes an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions. It is located in a purpose-built 19th century building in the United Nations area. The city of Geneva is constantly rated among those with the highest quality of life in the world. The salary grade of this post is 10-12 (SFr 68'222-99'576 p.a. pro rata). A regrading procedure for all conservation staff is currently under way.
