Subject: North American Textile Conservation Conference
The Board of Directors of the North American Textile Conservation Conference is pleased to invite you to Washington, DC to attend the Sixth Biennial Conference, "Facing Impermanence: Exploring Preventive Conservation for Textiles", November 6-9, 2007. This conference is co-sponsored by The Textile Museum, The National Gallery of Art, and The National Museum of the American Indian. The conference will open on Thursday, November 8, 2007 with a keynote speech by Jean Tetreault, Senior Researcher for the Canadian Conservation Institute. The two-day conference program will include 17 presentations, eight posters, two evening receptions, and lunch during the conference. Presentation of papers and posters will take place at the National Gallery of Art. The conference will be preceded by two days of workshops. Workshops will take place at the National Museum of the American Indian, at The Textile Museum, and the X-radiography workshop will take place at the National Museum of African Art. Lunch during all workshops will be included in the workshop fee. Applications must be received by July 12, 2007 to be considered. NATCC will inform successful applicants by July 31, 2007. We are looking forward to seeing both familiar and new faces this November.
