Subject: Removal of soluble nylon from terracotta
I am attempting to remove or reduce a soluble nylon coating from unglazed terracotta, and would appreciate any advice on how this might be done. I have found little of practical help in the literature, and have tried several materials and methods to no avail, including a methanol gel. The coating has saturated the clay, appearing darker where applied, without creating much gloss or film thickness.
