Nicholas Schoffer

I am contemplating the treatment of an 11 1/2 inch x 8 7/8 inch x 3
inch  hard plastic object entitled Reservad, made by Nicholas
Schoffer in 1963. The object consists of three elements: a flat
plastic background, an 1/8 inch thick black plastic disk, and a
water-white plastic block.  The elements are connected by 3/8 inch
plastic dowels, some of which have broken off.  The object is now in
two pieces instead of three.  In addition, the black plastic frame,
which is part of the object, has two large losses in one corner.  As
conservation of this type of object is outside my area of expertise,
I would be interested to hear from other conservators who have
treated pieces by Schoffer.  I am particularly interested in
appropriate adhesives and filling materials.
